My journey into photography began as a young girl with a 110 Kodak Instamatic camera. I loved photographing horses, family and friends. Wish I still had some of those prints!

When I married in 1982, my husband was an avid amateur photographer and my interest in photography was rekindled. I purchased my first DSLR in 2008 and enjoyed the freedom it offered. In 2009, I entered a photo in a contest sponsored by an award-winning Chicago professional photographer and my photo won First Place.  I was then inspired to take my photography more seriously. I have since submitted other photos to various contests, received recognition in the form of Honorable Mention in a nationwide B&W contest and also a first place Viewer's Choice award in another contest.

I have invested many hours in audience interactive online photography classes through creativeLIVE.com, where several of my submitted photos were acknowledged and critiqued by professional photographers. Through these classes I learned about equipment, posing, lighting, editing, style, and so much more - even how to set up a photography business. As I learned, I invested in more professional equipment and in 2012 at the age of 58, I opened a studio in my home.

I love my job. It's never too late to follow your passion!
